About us

Our values inform all we do

Open, honest and a champion of research integrity

We’re here to enable and support responsible research practice and to ensure that everyone can have confidence and trust in the way research is conducted and reported. Catalyst Editorial Director, Dr Jane Alfred, is a member of the UK Committee on Research Integrity (UKCORI), an advisory council member of the UK Research Integrity Office (UKRIO) and an Associate member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Independent experts

We work collaboratively with research and publishing professionals to empower individuals at every level through our training – from leadership to early career professionals. We advocate for - and are contributing to - a more equitable, inclusive research environment that recognises and rewards fairly, embraces equity and diversity, and recognises research integrity and supportive research cultures as being vital to producing high quality research outcomes.

Working with responsibility, care and expertise

We’ve built strong, long-lasting professional relationships across the research and publishing communities and are experienced experts who are trusted to deliver. We recognise the considerable potential of biomedical research to improve the health and wellbeing of society, and our role in helping to achieve ethical, reliable, responsible research of the highest quality.

Catalyst for change

We work closely with research leaders and institutions to improve the culture of research teams and the quality of research leadership through our training, as well as the reliability, reproducibility and value of research outputs. We take a lead on addressing key issues across academic research to improve research culture, research practice, research evaluation and research reporting, including the impacts of unconscious bias.
